With more Internet nodes, cell phones, and electronic banking transaction per capita than any nation in the world, Finland has the information infrastructure upon which leading countries model their futures. Finland was the first country to launch a digital network for mobile communications and is in a globally unique position to lead development in wireless and Web convergence.

With just over 5 million people, Finland has 20 top-rated universities, almost 30 polytechnics (sometimes referred to as universities of applied sciences), many advanced technical schools, and numerous world-renown research organizations which have produced one of the most highly-educated labor forces in the world.
